Motivated by the lack of options in the senior schooling system, my project aims to re-define typical senior schooling introducing a third choice for learning, interaction, and collaboration.

Developing a city-based insertion the design will create an escape to guide youths to learn and experience. The city creates a fun and exciting environment for youths to gather.

Utilising mentorship to tailor each individual’s experience, making use of the existing tenants to become inspirations for the user.
The Design Language

The insertion in one one one eagle st. takes inspiration from the Moreton bay fig tree creating three zones. [ The roots ] will be a place for interaction integrating more curvaceous and free form patterns. [ The Trunk ] is a collaborative learning zone which moves into linear structures that creates a supporting protective environment. [ The Branches ] level implements supportive co-working and adds an additional angular motif which informs clusters of meeting and learning zones.

The problem

The discourse surrounding dropouts in education is not defined by culture, gender, age, ethics. It is all inclusive for humans who need another choice. Proven by these statics of the issue across the globe.
Reframing previous research of drop out statistics in Australia 26% out of 4 million students are dropouts therefore 1 in 4 students at a ratio of 3 males to 2 females. Which have a great cause and effect for society regarding lost taxes disengagement in work and crime.

The Infill

One one one eagle street was the office building that was chosen.
The context was crucial to enable a city hub which offers students an exciting and substantial change in environments for learning.

the Design

The design language formed three different zones with three different languages the roots will be more a curvaceous space the trunk with move into more linear structures and the branches with integrate angular structures
Level 23, level 24, level 25
The program of the level the users will be greeted with a lounge area to influence informal meetings and gathering, next the users will meander through the space viewing the student work. The users will then have the opportunity to eat at the cafeteria or café areas.
level 23 it was really important to be an interaction space being a cafeteria area it will bring the other people in the offices in the building to this space. It was also important to have an exhibition space where students work would be displayed which will give them exposure to potential jobs or internships in the building
The services as the majority of the ceiling will be exposed where I have created a grid services try system to formalize the layout. Also, the junction between where the service meet partitions will implement a dropped bulkhead creating threshold between spaces which will integrate the services more seamlessly.
the trunk which is a collaborative learning zone implementing a strong space for growth and a space that will be protective and nurturing. The workshop integrates angular hanging desk forms to allow for collaboration around to creating interaction between users. This space utilizing kinaesthetic learning utilizing physical activities allowing independent learning through trial and error.
Adaptable working zones to work together or individually. the auditorium that is adaptable for presentation, learning zone for individuals or even an event space.
the supportive co-working zones the abstraction of the branches informed clusters of meeting zones to support growth. Utilizing the angular structures to support others around. The technical labs implements the sheltered environments of the branches that form protection and a barriers between the outside in allowing users to feel safe and secure.
kinaesthetic learning implements visual and auditory tactile techniques are integrated to create a multi-sensory environment which have been proven that physical touch can help with learning therefore the resource space was imperative. The supportive learning zones create clusters of pods and booths to allow individuals to meet and interact.
